I have a comment/question about all Ginga series. The span between GNG and GDW is about 15 years, right? Well, I don't know how old Gin was in GNG, but it seems like he shouldn't still be alive. It's very rare when dogs live longer then 10 or 11 years, and even then they are so old they can scarcly do anything. Though it's evident that the Ginga legends do not go by Dog years, because by one year dogs are fully functioning members of sociaty. I just thought I would post this here and we could debate about it or something.... Maybe someone knows something that the creator might have mentioned?

Yes, you know, I've been wondering about that too. Smith was an adult in the begining of GNG, and he was still alive 14 years later in GDW(for awhile, anyway). I'm wondering how old he was, he would be anchient. And, why would Gin, the leader, wait for fourteen years to mate?

He meets Sakura in the GNG manga, I think, but I'm not sure 'bout that. Anywho, Gin's quite the old man... xD

And Ben should definatly not be alive in GDW. I mean, he was already pretty old in GNG.

yes Ben was the oldest in GNG Ken mentions that Ben was the oldest. ;D Gin would be 15 years, because he was about a year in GNG, so plus 14 would be 15 years. so yes old ^^ But gin's the ammazing tora-gee, so maybe thats why ^^ My dads dog was a mixed breed but he lived a good 18 years ^^

And, the larger the dog, the shorter it's average life span. My akita lived only 12(actually,, to be technical, 11 years, 11 months, and 20-some says, he died right before his twelfth birthday) years, my thingyer 14( I wasn't alive all of her life though, she died when I was six), and, the last few years of each dogs' life was spent slow with age, the poor thigs. Taz had artritus and couldn't climb stairs, so how the heck could these dogs leap around and be so spry at such an age? True, not all dogs age as fast as others or get artritus, but, there should be some signs of old age. Ben had them. but Gin? Not so much.

I've noticed that C.ockers tend to live freakishly long for some reason. My grandpa had one that was 15 or 16 when it died, and my grandma STILL has one that was ancient 7 years ago.
But back on topic.... Ben should DEFINATLY not be alive still. It goes against nature for a dog to live that long.
